In fall of 2003
the post Saddam dinar made their world debut as a restricted
currency. By mid 2004 the first US based dinar dealer hit GoogleÒ
sponsor ads and US
Presidential Order #13303 made it legal to do so. Most
countries around the world followed.
By September 2004 there were about a
dozen dinar dealers on the Internet. I recall around this time getting
my US Department of Treasury Registration which made me a
licensed legal money service business authorized to deal Iraqi Dinar to and
through the USA. As a Canadian, I sold dinar all over the world before
I got into consulting.
The risk factor for investing in dinar was
sky high back in the day. Although the tables have turned with an
89% reduction in violence in Iraq 5 from years
ago compared to the November 2004 Fallujah invasion by coalition forces.
Since 2003 dinar has gone up several times and I know folks who have already
doubled their money.
As for the chopping of the zeros myth, that is a function of a devaluation,
not a revaluation. And a devaluation will not be used to harness a
revaluation. Period. This is not lone Germany cutting the
banknote after WWII;
This is OIL
RICH Iraq with world support following Kuwait's own revalue
footsteps!
The decimal point on the actual dinar exchange rate will move from the left
(0.001)
to the right
(00.01)
and that is what is meant by 'chopping of the
zeros', not off the banknotes! Rather, off of the exchange
rate in this 1 cent US reval example.
